Public Access Catalog [PAC]

The library’s PAC provides patrons access to the Library’s collections 24/7.  Search by title, author, or subject.

Patron Accounts can be accessed at by clicking here for checking due dates of items checked out, for renewing items, for placing reserves on library materials, and for keeping a list of books read.

Loans

Books and audio books loan period is two weeks, with 2 renewals. Video loan period is 7 days, with no renewals.

Renewing Items

Renew books and audio books by clicking on Patron Account at https://cliftonforgeva.gov then clicking on the Town Departments tab, scroll down to Library Services option and then click on Library Catalog.  Enter the 14 digit barcode number [back of library card] and password – last 4 digits of library card. Materials may also be renewed in person or by telephone, 863-2519. Yellow tape books and audio books cannot be renewed.

Videos can be checked-out for 7 days, with no renewals.

Fines

Fines are assessed if a borrowed item is not returned on time. Loaned materials are assessed at $ .10 per item per day, with a maximum fine of $5.00 per item. Materials dropped in the exterior book bin after closing hours will be checked in the following open day.

Have a question for the library?  Go to the library catalog, click on Patron Account, enter 14 digit barcode number [back of library card] and password, last 4 digits of barcode number. Click onLibrary Info tab. Click on ASK US, just below the Library Info tab. Type your question or comment in the box provided. Click send.

Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi)

Available during library open hours.

Computer Use

Five  Internet accessible computers for  adults and two Internet accessible computers for children are available. Patrons, who have a signed Internet Acceptable Use Policy form on file, need to present their library card.  Computer use is limited to 30 minutes, if someone is waiting. Visitors need to present a picture ID and sign the Internet Acceptable Use Policy.

Word Processing Computers and Typewriter available for use with Library card.

FAX

Library staff sends faxes for the public at the following fees:

Sending – First page is $2.00

Additional pages are $0.50 each

Receive – $1.00 per page

Meetings

The Michael Armstrong Community Room is available for group use. Please contact the Library at 863-2519 to inquire about scheduling your group in the Community room.

Purpose & Mission

The mission of the Clifton Forge Public Library is to inform, educate, and entertain the public through a variety of programs, print and non-print sources and community activities. The library will conduct its mission by providing: pre-school developmental programs and a wide variety of stimulating picture books for pre-schoolers and beginning readers; programs for students and a wide array of fiction and non-fiction books which support the curricula and needs of the student, primary grades through college, as well as their recreational interests; and, programs for s and young s, with a balanced and current collection of fiction, non-fiction and reference materials for the and young reader. These areas are supported by audio and videocassettes, and compact discs. Reference services are enhanced with on-line and other electronic services. And, all library services will strive for a philosophical balance, impartiality and confidentiality.
